With applesauce, this apple crisp offers twice the apple goodness of others. Applesauce, brown sugar and cinnamon are combined, and stirred into sliced apples. The mixture is then piled into a large baking dish and topped with sugar. The crisp is then baked in the oven for one hour.

This is something I just hacked together based on the desire for pork and apples. I made fresh taglitelle with durum semolina and eggs, but you can substitute pretty much any pasta you like, although I'd recommend the strand variety. The garlic is optional, as I don't think it added too much.
